Czinger Vehicles set to showcase pathbreaking 21C at 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed
Los Angeles, CA – Czinger Vehicles will make its Goodwood Festival of Speed debut at this year’s iteration of the renowned event set for June 23rd to June 26th. The festival is an annual celebration of the world of motorsport, held on the grounds of Goodwood House, the historic home of the Duke and Duchess of Richmond and Gordon in West Sussex, England. The Los Angeles-based automotive brand will showcase its pioneering 21C model, one of the first times the car will be on display to the public in the U.K.

One of the annual highlights of the festival, the 21C is slated to race along the legendary Goodwood Hillclimb, a 1.16-mile racecourse known for being narrow, bumpy, slippery, and above all, exciting. Despite being new to the course, with performance as one of the key attributes of the 21C and having recently broken speed records at COTA and Laguna Seca, Czinger is well-positioned to compete.
The 21C will be raced by Chris Ward, a household name in certain automotive circles, as famed for his charisma and classic British airs as he is for his sensational driving talents. Ward has driven, raced, and coached in many different vehicles spanning eras, including but not limited to such cars as the Bugatti T50 Pre-War Sports Car, Maserati 250F Grand Prix Car, Ford Lotus Cortina, Jaguar XK120, and Patrick Motorsport Group 1 Rover. Ward previously triumphed in 2021 at the Goodwood Hillclimb in an Audi, and has also won the Spa 24 Hours as a factory Nissan driver. He is currently the chief instructor at Silverstone.
“We see the Goodwood Festival of Speed as an optimal place to showcase what we do at Czinger.”
Guests at Goodwood will find Czinger in the Supercar Paddock behind the Startline 1 Grandstand. Czinger executives including founder and CEO Kevin Czinger, Founder and senior vice president of operations Lukas Czinger, chief designer David O’Connell, and chief engineer Ewan Baldry will all be in attendance— evidencing the company’s deep commitment to a successful event.
During the festival, Czinger will also showcase its partnership with Alcantara, the Italian Company that has a strong foothold in the automotive, design, fashion, consumer electronics, and marine industries. Alcantara Chairman & CEO Andrea Boragno will be present at the Czinger stand on June 23rd. To celebrate this unique partnership, an exclusive large scale art image of the 21C has been digitally printed on Alcantara®: the avant-garde external aesthetics of the vehicle are reproduced using the innovative soft-touch material used for the interior.
The partnership makes sense for both Czinger and Alcantara as both companies are committed to sustainability and put style and innovation at the core of their respective businesses: the two design teams worked together to create a broad range of cutting-edge applications for Alcantara’s lightweight materials to extremely customize the groundbreaking Czinger 21C’s interior.
“We see the Goodwood Festival of Speed as an optimal place to showcase what we do at Czinger,” said Kevin Czinger. “Drivers in the United Kingdom have historically appreciated elite engineering, beautiful aesthetics, and spine-tingling performance, and those are just some of the qualities we are delivering with the 21C. Goodwood is perhaps the ultimate place to showcase a Czinger in England with its rich automotive history and the deep pool of clients, dealers and prospective buyers that we expect will be in attendance. We are also extremely excited to be working with an experienced driver like Chris Ward, who brings the requisite skill, pedigree, and performance that befits the 21C.”
The first Czinger 21Cs are projected to be delivered in late 2023. AI-engineered, optimized and assembled by robots, the car represents a radical transformation of the manufacturing sector and the future of Human‑AI design within an environmentally sustainable system. Equipped with an in-house designed twin-turbo V8 within a strong hybrid configuration, top speed for the 21C is 253 mph, and it achieves 0-60 mph in just 1.9 seconds. Its performance at Goodwood Festival of Speed should be testament to these spectacular engineering achievements.
